Biography

Originally from Montreal, Rachel Accolas has always had a passion for photography and culture. In 2020, she graduated from the film program at UQAM with a specialization in cinematography. Since then, she has worked on film sets, notably as a camera operator/steadicam operator.

Director's Note

The Races is a film that was shot out of a desire to share. After being immersed in the world of horse racing, I felt an immense need to share this experience with the public. The goal was to create the impression, through a camera inspired by the "direct cinema" style, of being part of the Prolon team and experiencing that closeness to the characters as if "we" were all integral members of this team, sharing in its victories as well as its defeats.
