Route 138 immerses us in the running odyssey undertaken by Gaston to honor his sister Tatiana, proving that a brother's love can go far.
SYNOPSIS
Gaston, a fifty-something avid runner, has set himself the challenge of running 138 kilometers along Route 138 on June 10, 2023. Through this superhuman feat, he hopes to pay tribute to the courage and resilience of his younger sister, Tatiana, who battled cancer in her youth. Route 138 is a contemplative yet engaging documentary that immerses us in the odyssey of a brother who wants to show his sister how much he cares for her. For Gaston, running is the language he knows best, and it's with this language that he will write his love letter to Tatiana.

Director's Note
With Route 138, I wanted to tell Gaston and Tatiana's story with empathy and show a less frequently discussed side of the fight against cancer: the impact on loved ones and the fear of losing someone dear. This emotion, deeply rooted in this family and rekindled by Gaston's fulfillment of his promise, is what drove me to complete this film. I wanted to make a film that, while centered on the sporting challenge and Gaston's determination, is imbued with empathy for Tatiana and also offers a sensitive glimpse into her perspective, so that ultimately, the brother and sister find common ground in their gaze and affection for one another.
