Logline

The Canadian KIN-BALL® team, the dominant champion, is aiming for another world title in South Korea, while for some players, it’s their last chance to make history.

Short Synopsis

"L'amour du gros ballonl" is a feature-length documentary about the Canadian KIN-BALL® delegation, which will travel to South Korea this coming November to represent Canada at the next World Cup of the sport.

Canada, reigning champion for nearly as long as anyone can remember, goes with hopes of winning again—but for some players, this will be their last tournament, whether they win or not.

Long Synopsis

In 1985, a giant ball appeared in Quebec gyms. It was so unique that it gave birth to a whole new team sport: kin-ball. The love for this giant ball follows the Canadian kin-ball team as they head to South Korea in November 2024 to defend their world championship title. Through teamwork, respect, and the players' vulnerability, a deeply united group emerges. For some, it will be their very last competition.

What emerges is a portrait of a generation of men who are reinventing masculinity with sensitivity, solidarity, and authenticity, one emotion at a time. Win or lose, these athletes are redefining together what it means to be strong, united, and human.
