DIRECTOR - BIO
A Canadian Screen Award winner, Harrison began his career as an actor on Vancouver Island before expanding his practice to directing, writing and music. His short film I Dare You, presented at Cannes, as well as festival favorite Cafe Racer, led him to his first feature film with Woven Tight. Recognized for his vibrant and hybrid style, straddling genres, he works between Canada, Los Angeles and Tokyo as a true multidisciplinary artist.
DIRECTOR'S WORD
In cinema, people struggling with addiction are often portrayed as cautionary tales. But what happens when the person struggling with addiction is also the most magnetic person in the room?
Inspired by a true story, Tissé serré (Tightly Woven) is a love letter from a son to his father: charismatic, funny, and impossible to abandon. The film offers an honest look at the rift that addiction creates in all those who love it. The family fragments. Relationships twist and break. And yet, love remains. It's this contradiction that we rarely see on screen.
This is the film that my team and I chose to create with immense pride.
