At 53, Herby decides to revive a long-buried dream: to become a race car driver in the legendary NASCAR Canada Series. An ambitious project for a simple mechanic seeking to make his mark in a world dominated by money. Despite undeniable talent, Herby is still young when he is forced to abandon his dream due to a lack of funds. Recruited to make deliveries by a criminal network operating within the racing world, Herby agrees to play a dangerous game that will land him in prison. It is during this time that he develops a severe addiction to drugs and alcohol, which further strains his relationships with family and friends.
 Throughout his tumultuous journey, his passion for racing remained undiminished. Meeting his wife Anna marked a turning point in his life. With the support of loyal friends, the couple would do everything in their power to compete in the NASCAR circuit.
 The documentary follows Herby through his first season as a pilot, exploring hopes, past hurts, reunions, and hardships. The film paints a sobering and human portrait of a man seeking redemption and the courage it takes to achieve it.
