SAINTE-ADÈLE, September 4th, 2024
Vital Productions is thrilled to announce the start of filming the feature film Tight Lettuce. Based on true events, the film is directed by Harrison Houde and star Dakota Daulby (Shogun, Longlegs), two Vancouver filmmakers who are both penning the script.
The impressive cast is composed of well-known actors from Quebec and across Canada, including Emmanuel Bilodeau, Dakota Daulby, Christie Burke, France Castel, Maxim Roy, Guy Jodoin, Didier Lucien, Jennifer Khoe, Josh Cruddas and Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll, who perform in both English and French to bring this bilingual story to life.
Inspired by a true story, Tight Lettuce is a dark comedy about Joel's (Dakota Daulby) unwavering love for his father Bodo (Emmanuel Bilodeau), who struggles with an addiction to heroin and fentanyl. Despite Bodo's denial and the chaos his addiction causes, Joel documents his father's struggle, hoping to inspire change. As their bond deepens, Joel can choose to confront his father or cherish the time they have left together.
Tight Lettuce is Harrison Houde's first feature film. Born on Vancouver Island, Harrison began his acting career in TV series at a young age, before making a name for himself as a director of short films. His film Cafe Racer was recognized at several international festivals. In addition to Tight Lettuce, he is developing another feature film based on his short Vance.
The team includes producer Serge Desrosiers, who is also responsible for the film's cinematography, artistic director Mario Hervieux, costume designer Suzana Fischer, content producer Sandrine Béchade, line producer Roxanne Geoffroy.
The entire Tight Lettuce team sets up shop in the Laurentians for twenty days of shooting starting on September 4th.
The bilingual film will be distributed by Vital Distribution and released in theatres across Canada in 2026.
