DEVE
by Raoul Fortier
For Kaan, a 19-year-old camel trainer, the tradition of camel wrestling in Turkey is neither a simple spectacle nor a static form of folklore. It is a passion, a bond between neighboring communities, and above all, a profound relationship with the animal. On the eve of the annual Bozdoğan festival, this short documentary immerses us in the event through the eyes of Kaan and Mustafa, a seasoned herder, revealing a unique culture, a close-knit community, and an exceptional human-animal bond.
with Kağan Katar (Kaan) and Mustafa
Why is this vital?
Pour la richesse d’un univers culturel qui se dévoile au rythme de ses traditions, la force évocatrice de ses images et la découverte d’une nouvelle voix cinématographique à ne pas manquer.
