DIRECTOR'S WORD
With Route 138, I wanted to empathize with the story of Gaston and Tatiana and show a side of the fight against cancer that is less often discussed: the impact on loved ones and the fear of losing someone dear to us. This emotion, deeply rooted in this family and rekindled by the fulfillment of Gaston's promise, is what pushed me to complete this film. I wanted to make a film that, although centered on the sporting event and Gaston's determination, is imbued with empathy for Tatiana and also offers a sensitive window into her point of view, so that in the end, the brother and sister end up responding to each other in their gaze and affection for one another.
